Iowa House District 100

Republican Candidate

Blaine Watkins

Blaine Watkins is a lifelong resident of Donnellson, IA, with deep community roots, a passion for public service, and a steadfast commitment to conservative values. Growing up in Lee County, he understands the challenges and opportunities facing hardworking Iowans, especially those in agriculture and rural communities.

Blaine attended Central Lee High School, where he participated in 4H and FFA. He has been interested in politics since a young age. Blaine also co-chaired and chaired the Young Republicans group while in high school. His senior year, he gained more interest in the Iowa State government and was chosen to intern as a page for the House Majority Leader, Matt Windschitl.

Upon high school graduation, he attended Des Moines Area Community College, where he obtained his Associate of Arts degree. He then transferred to Grandview University, where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science in the area of public administration. He also obtained a minor in Business Administration. While Blaine attended college, he continued his love for politics by working with Senator Craig Williams of Carroll, IA (2021-2022) and Senator Jeff Reichman of Montrose, IA, for 3 years (2023-present).

Blaine is a proud fifth-generation farmer who, during his formative years, farmed alongside his father and grandfathers. He now manages his own farming operations. He understands the importance of supporting farmers, protecting rural economies, and ensuring conservative principles guide the state’s future.

Following Representative Martin Graber’s passing, Blaine is running for the vacant Iowa House District 100 seat. He recognizes the need for strong conservative leadership. He is ready to fight for lower property taxes, limited government, fiscal responsibility, school choice, parental rights, and the protection of individual freedoms.  He is eager to create an environment conducive to economic growth and industry expansion, leading to better job opportunities for Southeastern Iowans.

Through his political journey, Blaine has learned to listen to the people, carry their concerns to those in power, and advocate for solutions that make a difference. He has learned not to be afraid or intimidated.

Instead, he has learned to speak up and speak out.

Now, he asks for your vote.

He asks to be your voice.
